About NG Counselling Centre in Coimbatore
Who We Are
Nitya Gurukula (NG) began as a small seed rooted in compassion and a deep urge to connect, grow, and share warmth across diverse communities—beyond caste, religion, and social status. Its growth has been nurtured by the trust and openness of clients, trainees, and well-wishers who chose to evolve beyond their patterns.
At the heart of NG lies Transactional Analysis (TA)—a life-giving framework that continues to guide and sustain all our work.

A Space Where Change Begins
From a modest beginning in 2002, NG has grown steadily—offering counselling, training, supervision, and workshops. This growth has been guided by the evolving needs of individuals, groups, and communities.
Our CEO, Sashi Chandran, brings over 4 decades of experience applying Transactional Analysis across diverse settings, including:
- Individuals in care homes and juvenile institutions
- Cancer patients and their families
- Educational institutions—students, faculty, parents, and management
- Industrial workers, staff, and leadership teams
These experiences helped adapt and apply TA meaningfully across multicultural and diverse groups.
NG was formally inaugurated in 2004 by Fr. George Kandathil, Founder Director of ICTA, Kalamassery. Since then, our work has remained deeply rooted in Coimbatore.
Our Approach
NG follows a holistic approach that integrates:
- Biological
- Emotional
- Cognitive
- Behavioral
- Social
- Spiritual dimensions
Expanding into Tai Chi
Since 2002, our CEO has explored Tai Chi as a powerful blend of movement, breath, and meditative awareness. This journey led to the structured and scientific approach of Dr. Paul Lam’s Tai Chi for Health Institute (TCHI).
Tai Chi now complements our work—aligning seamlessly with NG’s holistic philosophy and enhancing well-being through mindful movement.
